Rent in LA is pricey, but buying your own place is even more ambitious. Catie Parker, like thousands of other young Angelenos, is determined to stick it out in the city. She comes from Indiana and will not return without a fight. I remember when I first moved here, Los Angeles seemed like paradise and even now, it still has its days. Granted, living west of the 405 helps a lot. I have been lucky and our luck is all we ever really have.
