What do I need to play on Xbox live?
I'm trying to figure out how to connect everything before I get it. I have my DSL modem hooked up to the computer, but apparently I have to disconnect my ethernet cable and put the cable from the xbox to the ethernet thing for it to work, I don't want to do that though...I wanna be able to run the internet and xbox live at the same time. How does everyone else do it? |

get a router with multiple ethernet ports. It'll also held to have an Xbox live Gold membership. You get 1 free month with purchase. I'd recommend getting the 12 + 1 month card in Best Buy, walmart, or Target or even Gamestop for $49.99. That's a good deal, then you don't have to worry about renewing for 1 year and 1 or 2 months. (depending on if you're still on your free month)
Matt that's where they get ya, all the extra crap you need for your console.

They also get ya with the points to download content, games, movies, shows, etc.
The 360 isn't too bad about that. The Wii is. Not only do you need to get 3 remotes, You need 3 nunchucks, 1 to 4 classic controllers, maybe a gun of some sort for shooting games like "House of the Dead 2 & 3", extra Wii Wheels, if you play "Mario Kart Wii", the Wii Fit (for Balance board capability games), and last but not least, Wii points to download older classic games and other stuff. All That together runs a little over more than what a PS3 costs. (The good is you can get by on the Wii with bare essentials and still have fun."

my house has wireless for the computers and things... i have a cable going into a router and into the xbox. then all you need is xbox gold if you want to play games online. it's like 10 bucks a month unless you buy a package. i think. there are free demos and other free things to download. I've only bought a few things with points... like the rainbow six map packs and a few arcade games.
