I don't like Lackluster Park (it's actually my least fave Opeth album), and I didn't really get into their impression of Porcupine Tree.

In fact, it turns out that the only Opeth I DO like is the first three albums, plus Still Life sort of. However, I think Mikael Akerfeldt is one of the best vocalists on the planet, and Opeth do put on one hell of a great live show. I always enjoy them when I see them.

Machine Head's Through The Ashes Of Empires album may be the best metal album since Pantera's The Great Southern Trendkill

A Fine Day to Die off of Blood Fire Death is AMAZING.

I prefer the viking metal bathory to the black metal bathory.

Though, Blood Fire Death is more black metal-ish.

This is what happens when God takes human form and starts making CD's.

YouTube - Dan Swanö - Add reality

A song from Dan Swano's Moontower album. He does the entire album by himself.

It's one of my favorite CD's, one of those "stranded on an island what would you take" kinda things.

hmmm. Sounds like a much less talented Dream Theater ripping off an Opeth song. Not feeling it at all.

Dont have any of the Opeth remasters, not sure I will get them.

Bathory is my favourite of the "old school" extreme metal bands, i actually like them better than Venom. "Enter The Eternal Fire" is one of my alltime favourite metal songs. I like their early stuff a whole lot better than the doom/viking thing they did later.

The last couple of years i haven´t really listened much to new metal so i have no idea what´s going on in that scene. The last metal album i bought was Death Breath´s "Stinking Up The Night" and i mostly bought that because i´m a big fan of Nicke Andersson (The Hellacopters, Entombed, The Solution). It was great, no choirs, keyboards or any other bullshit, just raw and simplistic death metal with a whole lot of "punk rock" feeling, the way this kind of music sounded twenty years ago.

Dream Theater is a band. Opeth is a band. Dan Swano is an individual.

He's actually done a few projects with Akerfeldt.

Actually, He's been in about 20 bands/projects. Edge of Sanity, Pan.Thy.Monium and Infestdead to name a few

And he produced Opeth's Morningrise CD.
