Default Webcam
Ok, since most the models on here do webcam shows I was hoping to get some advice from some or from anyone really. I am looking for a camera that has motorized tracking or somekind of automated face tracking, ethernet, not usb if at all possible, built in mic, and really good quality. There is the logitech quickcam orbit but it connects usb and the pc the camera will be hooking to is a long distance away and there is already cat5 cable run in the attic. So anyone's expertise would be helpful.

Quit looking at webcams, and checkout security cameras, thats what you are looking for. A good camera with the features you are looking for will run in the 700 to 800 dollar range and goes up from there. The cheaper ones sacrifice picture quality for features such as movement tracking and the like. You can also use either wireless or power over IP. The advantage of Power over IP is you dont need to run a power cord, the power and data are run over the ethernet cable. The caveat is the switch on the other end must have POE cababilities as well.
