Girl gets detention for wearing Playboy sweats to school

School dress codes suck. In my schools, the girls weren't allowed to wear those over knee stockings and stuff. I even remember back in 4th grade we couldn't wear Bart Simpson T-shirts that read "Eat My Shorts!" Crazy!

Even without dress codes at school, I've seen some rather inappropriate things. Like once, I was in an office at school, and this one hot girl needed to pull up her stocking, well I got a little glimpse of leg and more. I silently smiled.

Nope, because (a) it's a BS argument, I've been there and "community" standards are not that conservative really and (b) the age of consent in Florida is 16, and she's 17 so she's not a minor as far as that goes...

And at the end of the day what a logo "represents" is precisely nothing if you don't know anything about porn. It's just a picture at that point.

All these points people are making about when they were in school just sound retarded, I remember once I got my scarf confiscated at school because it was grey and blue and didn't match the school uniform colour, at which point my mom phoned up the head teacher and told him to stop being a prick.

Basically what gets me is that anyone running a school can get that worked up about trivial crap like this, and only in America would it actually become a news story.

The only way to have a workable dress code is to have everyone wear a uniform, and even that doesn't work all the time.

It's just facist conformist crap designed to brainwash everyone into acting the same way. That anyone can get that worked up about people "promoting" pictures of naked women is mind-blowing. The human race has been around for about 200,000 years and for about 190,000 of them people all lived in caves and saw each other naked every single day. But strangely, we managed to survive...

Again, I don't think the issue is whether or not the school is allowed to make it policy that Playboy logos are not allowed to be worn by students. Minors do not have the same rights as adults.

The issue is assigning detention when it was NOT in the school policy that it was not OK.

Seems like they said you cant wear that, she goes home and changes, and it's all cool. THEN, she gets hit with detention.
