The yankees will come back. People must learn from history or they will look stupid...

People always say the yankees should win every year because they spend lots of money. The key is they win more then anyone else, what more do you want. I'm happy! : : :

Yankees players are still people and people don't always produce the way the are expected. So anyone that says they should win every year because on paper they have the best team is stupid.

Go Yankees!!!! Spend some money and lets win it all again!!!!

Under their current scheme, the Yankees will never win another World Series. They've got a bunch of good players, but most of them are nothing more than mercenaries. Teams win championships, not players. They'd do well to spend all the money they're using on Clemmons and A-Rod and spending it developing their minor league system again.

I was born and raised in CT. I was born a Yankee fan. Most of CT likes NY teams. I moved to IL from Baaaahsten brah. I lived in bean town for 8 years before moving to IL to work for phil. Now I am done with IL and heading west to AZ next week. :

I don't think never is a good description, because never gets broken every week and every season in sports.

However you make a good point and it is something I am worried about. I really don't want the Yanks to resign A-Rod, they need to let his greedy ass go. They have guys like Posada and Rivera who are in their core group of clutch players that are more important and a hell of a lot cheaper as also free agents to be. Not too mention the fact that their are some GREAT free agents on the market this offseason for 1/2 or a third of what A-Rod will be asking. They could fill the gap in center, get a quality starting pitcher and a new third basemen all for less than resigning him.

They need to lose guys like Clemens, A-Rod and Damon and get back to having great teams again.

Once. They have had one great season and nothing else before or after. Since the D-backs have been a team, the Yankees have been to the playoffs every year for the last 9 seasons going to 5 World Series and winning 3 of them. In that same time the D-backs have been to the playoffs 3 times and only winning any series that one year. And speaking of the Yankees going out and paying for mercenaries, what exactly were Shilling and Johnson for them that year? The model for an elite franchise they are not.
