Paranoid Society, Helpful Service, or Paranoid MrWeed???

About an hour ago (which makes it 1AM on a Saturday night in Texas), I was at the local Car Wash - washing my car. I couldn't sleep and my car was covered in mud from the day's activities. Anyway, as I was spraying my car with the high pressure hose, a cop came out of , like, nowhere (or so it seemed). As I wasn't expecting company, I jumped when I realized he was standing there.

He motioned for me to put the spray gun into the holster. I did (still cautious). He then says "Unsual time to wash your car"

to which I reply "..yeah...couldn't sleep"

Policeman: "nice car" <--continues to walk around it looking inside


Me: "thanks...just got it"

Policeman pauses, cocks head at weird angle, looks at me: "I'm just making sure you don't need...assistance"

Me: "You should have been here when I was vacuuming...yeah, naw...I'm good"


Policeman: "okay, well...you have a good night Mr...???"

Maybe the Officer just wanted to see if I needed any help with my car

Maybe He thought I was "getting rid of the evidence" by washing blood away

Or maybe I am paranoid and shoudl forget all about it

Hrmm maybe It has to do with color.. What color is your car anyways? I've read more red cars get ticketed then any other color.

that sounds like something straight outta law and order or csi haha.

i got pulled over for walking in my neighborhood at night. i needed exercise and i worked nights so when i got home everynight around midnight id go for a walk... i got pulled over 3 times in about 2 months. cops are odd.

If I was a cop and saw someone washing their car at 1:00 am I would stop by and say hello. If they responded the way you did, I'd say good night and go buy some donuts. If they acted all nervous, or anything like that I'd probably hang around and see what they are up to.

Washing your car at 1:00 am is unusual and it's a good thing for a cop to check out things that are unusual. Now was there racial profiling going on? Maybe so, maybe no. I would hope that cops check out anything unusual no matter who is doing it.

I completely agree.

I had a similar incident at 3am , but I didn't vacuum my car.
