They don't usually work in one thread. As the membership grows on the board more posts are made. Which also means you get more members asking for id's. So imagine if the board is getting around 1000 to 2000 posts a day. You can just about expect around 50 to 100 of these will be someone asking for a id. It happens on all models board when the membership grows. That is why they usually end up as a sub section of there own.
Maybe some will be able to put up with all these 50 or so been posted in general chat. But in the long run members will start to complain about them. So they get made into a thread. Then members requested id's start to get missed as the thread increases with requests as so speeds up. Also it means a lot of work for some who is going to id them. The multi quoting all the ones they know and remembering who each one is as you don't see the picture when going into advanced. All of which means more complaints. This is why in the end 90% of models boards end up with a sub section for them. So won't it be quicker and less work having one set up to prevent all this in the future?
I know I'd like to see the board grow and what makes that happen?
By been uncluttered with members moaning and here mostly to have fun and debate. Nothing looks attractive when everyone is moaning about something.
It's also like most boards have a members section for thread to congratulate each other of birthdays, special events and so forth. Because as the membership grows, so does these threads. Also it makes them easier to find.
It's a thought for the future if we are all in the same frame of mind for the board to grow.
